Microsoft 365 admin approval for Hedy

Approval complete? If you’re an IT admin and Microsoft sent you here after you granted consent, you’re done. Ask your users to open Hedy and tap Try Again to connect their Outlook Calendar.

Some organizations only let employees connect apps that an IT admin has approved. When you connect Outlook Calendar with a work or school Microsoft account in such an organization, Hedy shows “Your organization needs to approve Hedy” instead of connecting.

If You See This in Hedy

  1. Tap Copy link for IT admin and send the link to your IT team, for example by email or chat.

  2. Wait until they tell you Hedy is approved.

  3. Go back to Settings → Automation & Data → Calendar in Hedy and tap Try Again.

Hedy may show a related message instead:

  • “Request sent to your IT admin”: you sent an approval request from Microsoft’s sign-in page. Tap Try Again once your admin has approved it.

  • “Ask IT to assign Hedy to your account”: Hedy is approved, but your organization only lets assigned users sign in to it. Your admin needs to add you.

  • “Blocked by your organization’s access policy”: an access policy set by your organization stopped the sign-in. Only your IT team can change that.

Until it’s resolved, you can still use Hedy as usual, or connect Google Calendar instead. See Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar for everything the calendar connection does.

What Hedy Asks Permission For

Hedy is published by Hedy AI LLC, a Microsoft verified publisher (publisher domain hedy.ai). It requests only these delegated permissions:

PermissionWhat it allows
Read user calendars (Calendars.Read)Read the signed-in user’s calendar events
Sign users in and read basic profile (openid, profile, email)Identify the account that connected the calendar
Maintain access to data you have given it access to (offline_access)Keep the calendar connected without signing in again

Hedy requests no application (app-only) permissions. Each user connects their own calendar, and Hedy can only read the calendar of a user who signed in and connected it. Access is read-only: Hedy never creates, edits, or deletes events, and it doesn’t store event descriptions. It uses the title, time, location, attendees, and the Teams join link to prepare meeting reminders and session context. Users can disconnect at any time in Hedy’s settings, which removes the access Hedy stored.

For accounts in Hedy’s EU data region, calendar data is processed in the EU (Google Cloud europe-west3), like the rest of their Hedy data.

The quickest way is the link your user sent you. Open it, sign in with an admin account that can grant tenant-wide consent (for example Global Administrator, Cloud Application Administrator, or Application Administrator), review the permissions, and accept. Microsoft then brings you back to this page.

You can also grant consent in the Microsoft Entra admin center:

  1. Go to Enterprise applications and search for Hedy. If it isn’t listed yet, use your user’s link, since the app appears after the first sign-in attempt or consent.

  2. Open Hedy, then Permissions, and select Grant admin consent.

If your user sent an approval request from the sign-in page, you’ll find it under Enterprise applications → Consent and permissions → Admin consent requests, where you can review and approve it.

If your organization requires user assignment for Hedy, also add the users or groups who should be able to connect under Hedy → Users and groups.

Once you’ve approved Hedy, let your users know they can tap Try Again in Hedy.
